Dr Hema Siva - Wednesdays
Dr Hemalatha Sivakumaran (Hema Siva) completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science and a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree at Monash University in Victoria. She went on to complete her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Newcastle in NSW. Hema has been working both in the public mental health system and in the private practice arena mostly with adults and the geriatric population. She specialises in acute mental health issues such as depression and anxiety disorders (including phobias and panic attacks), with special interests also in grief and bereavement issues, chronic illness management, post traumatic stress disorder, relationship issues and conflict management. Hema is highly interested in multi-cultural issues and is therefore open to migrant groups with acculturation concerns. Hema is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and the APS College of Clinical Psychologists. She applies a variety of therapy approaches and is very keen on professional development activities, teaching and research. Hema overall enjoys every opportunity to serve and make a meaningful difference.

Kursley J. Bernard –

Kursley is trained in many methods of psychological assessment and
treatment and specializes in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), REBT
(Rational Emotive Behavioral therapy), and Interpersonal Counselling. He has
extensive experience working with all age groups (children, adolescents, and
adults) through a variety of issues including stress management, depression,
anxiety, OCD, self esteem, and grief counselling. His experience also
includes couples counselling, relationship issues and divorce/ separation
counselling. Kursley regularly participates in professional development and
continuing education to keep up to date with the latest effective therapies
and techniques. Kursley believes that humans have an innate drive to improve
and is honoured to have the opportunity to be part of that change.
Kursley Bernard is registered with the Psychologist Registration Board of
Victoria and is a full member of the Australian Psychology Society. He is
registered with Medicare as a provider and is offering fully bulk-billed
sessions for most patients. Kursley is also a registered provider of
psychological services by all major health insurance companies.

Julie-Anne Peake – 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday
Julie-Anne Peake, owner and managing
director of Psychology 4 Change, completed a Bachelor of Arts degree
majoring in psychology and psychophysiology at Swinburne University
of Technology in 1999. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Applied
Science degree, Psychophysiology Honours, also at Swinburne. In
2003, she finished a Master of Clinical Psychology degree at Deakin
University. Before becoming registered as a psychologist and
starting up Psychology 4 Change in 2004, she gained experience
working with people in community mental health organisations,
inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as government agencies.
She uses cognitive-behavioural therapies to treat depressive
disorders, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, pain and injury, trauma
and abuse, bullying, bulimia nervosa and intellectual disabilities.
She regularly attends professional development activities to keep up
to date with the latest therapies and techniques that have been
shown to be effective.

Cindi Hinch –
Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays
Cindi completed her Bachelor Degree (Psychology/Psychophysiology)
with Honours at Swinburne University of Technology and her Masters
in Clinical Psychology at La Trobe University, and is registered
with the Psychologists Registration Board of Victoria. The focus of
her work is high-prevalence mental health disorders, including
depression and anxiety conditions, and issues related to pain,
grief, trauma and bullying. She uses a variety of well established
treatments, which focus on alleviating the burden of current
symptoms, as well as understanding, accepting and acting upon the
factors that contributed to these difficulties. In her work she
tries to understand the role of stress in mental health as well as
the impact of mental health disorders on family, friends, and work
life. She also works on issues related to living with longer-term
mental health difficulties, including those related to psychiatric
medication. Cindi has experience in a variety of health fields,
including public mental health, drug and alcohol treatment, as well
as sleep disorder and diabetes management. Her life experience has
also given her a deep sense of empathy towards the difficulties that
those living with mental health conditions face in day-to-day life.
She has a deep commitment to improving the lives of people with
mental health disorders and offers bulk-billed services to most
clients through Medicare.
